Narrative

The Old Port of Chania—a place of history, of movement, of life. But in winter, it becomes something else. Through the eyes of a boat moored in its waters, this video tells the story of a harbour at rest. The summer crowds have vanished. The cafés once overflowing with voices now serve only the locals. Chairs are stacked, windows are dark, and the lighthouse watches over an empty sea. Soldiers from Souda come and go, indifferent figures in a place that has learned to exist between what it is and what it must be. The Old Port breathes in the silence, waiting for spring, when the lights shine again, the hotels will fill, and the performance will resume. A place both real and staged, both home and spectacle. A harbor that must always be ready for its next role
