Elyssa McDonagh

This sculptural installation is inspired by the allure of the sea and the dangers that come with it, expressing an invisible pull coming from the depths of the ocean. Based on the Port waters and its naturally chaotic elegance waves as they ebb an flow, fluctuating as easily as breathing, consuming anything that got caught up along the way whether it be inanimate objects or living beings. This work expresses an overwhelming temptation to enter each body of water and how each moment spent is a reminder of human mortality and vulnerability. This sculptural installation is an amalgamation of found and made objects to display this reality.
