Narrative

Katerina Soupekioti – “More than just a sunset”

The port is not merely a place of enchanting sunsets. It is a passage, where for many, significant journeys of life begin or come to an end. It symbolizes both beginnings and endings, hope and farewell. For some, it becomes a point of transition toward new horizons, a step toward a better life across the sea. Within it lie hidden stories of longing, courage, faith, and transformation. This artwork invites us to look beyond the aesthetic beauty of a sunset and to listen closely to the unseen narratives that are born and lost within the port.

Biography

Katerina Soupekioti is a painter who lives and works in Chania. Crete. I paint landscapes — not exactly as they are, but as I remember them, or wish they had been. I studied at the School of Fine Arts, where I learned that color doesn’t always stay inside the lines, and that textures often have more personality than I do. I'm inspired by nature, light, and memory — all the things that try to slip away, but somehow manage to stay.
