Investigating the impact of urban environments on the human psyche – particularly the intricately decorative yet insidiously segregative ironwork of Lisbon – this installation is an introspective visual representation of the artist’s chronic anxiety at its zenith, and how it distorts and sabotages their perception of the world around them.
Biography
Larry Dunne is an illustrator and visual artist based in Enniscorthy, Ireland. An NCAD and IADT graduate, his offbeat illustrative work is intricately detailed, surreal, and often finished in vibrant colours. A frequent topic of research in his practice is the insidious impact of urban environments on mental health. His current work mostly focuses on imaginative subversions of architecture, religious iconography, mythology, flora/fauna and aquatic environments. Her work and research manifests as an archive that includes; Music, 3D Modeling, Animation and Illustration, and Performance with an emphasis on digital and accessible methodologies.
