Narrative
My work explores memory, place, and the natural world through painting and ceramics. Using a vivid, collage-like approach, I blend realism and abstraction to capture moments as they were experienced and remembered.
Drawing inspiration from the landscapes of Ireland and Portugal, my paintings feature dynamic color palettes, from vibrant oranges and pinks to deeper reds and greens, reflecting the contrasts of these regions.
Working from photographs and memories, I create oil paintings where realistic figures navigate surreal, imagined narratives, embodying movement and emotional resonance. My ceramic practice complements this, using locally sourced clay, such as deep red clay from Nazaré, Portugal, to create simple forms that reflect the same themes of place and exploration.
Through both mediums, I seek to evoke the transformative experience of nature and the personal narratives that emerge from it.
