Narrative

Taking inspiration from Prá la e Prá Ça, the 1990 ballet composed by Louisa Lasdun based on Paula Rego’s Nursery Rhyme prints, the works, which are rooted in improvised performance, reflect early stage research into the role storytelling plays in shaping our perspectives and approaches to global issues, and collective imaginings of the future. Rooted by the writings of Ursula K. Le Guin and Donna Harraway, these process-led reflective pieces call into question the tools and meanings contained within idioms, childhood stories and games, and “what stories are used to tell other stories.”
